The 2 most common types of stainless are:
• Grade 304 is more commonly used for domestic products and should not be used for any laboratory where chemicals are used.
• Grade 316 is more corrosion resistant than 304 and usually referred to as “Marine Grade”. Where 316 is used in chemistry applications, good housekeeping practices must be followed or corrosion problems may develop.
